Cleaning with Care: Using Adora on Wood
Wooden surfaces are central to the warmth and character of a well-lived home. From heirloom furniture and solid oak dining tables to kitchen cupboards, bookshelves, and hardwood flooring, wood brings natural beauty and timeless design into our everyday spaces. But it also deserves careful, intentional maintenance — and the wrong cleaner can do more harm than good.
That’s why we formulated Adora to be not only effective and plant-powered, but also safe and respectful for use on wood. Our pH-neutral surface spray is designed for sealed wood finishes, offering a reliable clean without compromising texture, colour, or integrity.
How to Use Adora on Wood
Adora is a gentle multi-surface cleaner, ideal for most sealed wood types. Here's how to get the best results:
- Shake your Bottle for Life before each use. This ensures the natural ingredients and essential oils are evenly dispersed for optimal performance.
- Spray lightly and evenly across the wooden surface. For sensitive finishes, apply the spray directly onto a soft microfibre cloth instead.
- Wipe gently using a dry, lint-free cloth, following the natural grain of the wood to preserve finish and texture.
- Buff dry if desired. Adora leaves behind no residue, but lightly polishing can enhance natural lustre on sealed finishes.
For daily maintenance, a few sprays go a long way — no need to oversaturate or scrub.
Surface Compatibility & Patch Testing
Adora is formulated for use on the following wood finishes:
- Varnished or lacquered wood
- Painted or sealed hardwoods
- Engineered or treated timber
- Laminate or veneer wood with sealed coatings
We always recommend a patch test if you're unsure. Simply spray a small amount onto a hidden section and observe for any change in texture or finish once dry. For unsealed, raw, or wax-finished woods, consult your furniture or flooring care guide, or test cautiously — water-based sprays can penetrate untreated surfaces and raise the grain.
Avoid soaking or pooling the product, as excess moisture can cause warping over time.
Why Choose Adora for Wood?
Most wood cleaners rely on heavy waxes, silicone polish, or synthetic scent boosters to leave a “shine.” But these coatings can build up, trap dust, and disrupt the natural finish of the surface. Adora was designed differently.
- No harsh chemicals or artificial shine agents
- No petroleum-based solvents or drying alcohols
- No waxy build-up that attracts more dust over time
Instead, we use plant-based surfactants and essential oils to gently lift dirt, fingerprints, and everyday grime — leaving only a soft, clean finish and a refined scent that enhances your space, not overpowers it.
A More Mindful Clean
Your home deserves care that’s as considered as the items you fill it with. Adora’s reusable system, low-impact ingredients, and thoughtfully blended fragrances create a cleaning ritual that supports a better future — for your home, for your belongings, and for the planet.
Because caring for wood shouldn't come at the cost of the environment.
