We’re over the moon to see so many of you really buying into Adora, last weekend saw us hit our first major milestone as a business and we’re so proud and grateful for your support.
Adora is now in over 1,000 homes. Which is so surreal to us. When we started we wanted to create a more beautiful sustainable cleaning brand, one which gave back more than it took.
We’ll forever be working on improving Adora but to know you guys love what we’re doing too is such an inspiration boost. So thank you!
Yes we’re aesthetically pleasing but we’re also sustainably cleaning too so here’s the numbers when it comes to giving back to our planet through a cleaner, greener approach:
Plastic bottles saved
The average UK household is expected to use 1-2 plastic cleaning bottles per month (let’s say it’s 1, for simplicity sake) that’s 12 plastic bottles used each year.
So for those 1,000 home starter kit subscribers, each box saves them ever needing to buy another plastic bottle.
Meaning we’ve saved 12,000 plastic bottles so far 🎉🎉
Carbon offset
The benefit of saving on plastic bottles is that it reduces the need to create, ship and transport those bottles too.
Here’s the math:
A typical spray bottle with its trigger weighs about 50–75 grams of plastic. So if the average UK household gets through around 12 plastic cleaning bottles a year, that adds up quickly in carbon terms.
Producing one kilogram of plastic creates roughly 2.6 kilograms of CO₂ emissions, so each bottle works out at about 0.13–0.20 kg CO₂.
Multiply that by 12 bottles, and a single household is responsible for around 1.5–2.5 kg of CO₂ emissions every year just from the plastic in cleaning bottles alone.
Taking the average here (2kg of CO₂) we’ve saved 2,000kg or 2.2 tonnes in CO₂ emmissions. 🌳🌳

And as you all know we plant one tree for each refill pack and home starter kit we send out so maths we can all do incoming:

Still growing
We launched Adora officially on 20th August meaning we’re 41 days old, so this is just the beginning for us. Hopefully it won’t be long until we’re telling you we’ve reached our next major milestone!
